another birthday down

another birthday down...

damn, you'ld think that i would be gettin better at this by now. i mean the birthday thing. but NO. just kiddin'. had a mostly quiet birthday/ went to applebee's for dinner with my friend libby and her 86 year old mother, lillian. when we got there the staff was singing to another birthday individual. i was telling libby Noo it's NOT my birthday. i really did not want that song to happen again(not only to me) but the unfortunate staffers that have to sing the silly Happy Happy Birthday Song. i had broichette chicken, it was very good.needless to say, the deed was done. 5 or six neatly dressed waiters and waitresses brought a tasty ice cream sunday and that awful song to our table. it was over quickly so we didn't suffer much. i must also mention, that the song was sung with entheusiasm and gusto.while on the subject, the music at app;ebee's sucks. they play real good rock and roll but it's like song samples. i wish some one would actually buy a subscription to satallite radio or breakdown and purchase some real CD;s. i mean it, thirty seconds or so of a song, not one in two hours was complete. i couldn't wait to get out of there. i doubt if iwould ever go back just because of that. SORRY applebee's, that isn't the way to win me over. after dinner came back to libby's place in tracy and continued on packing . it's all almost done. we picked up the keys to her new house today. it's an older home but it's very cute and has nice yards new appliances and new carpets. the master bedroom has its own oversized shower(all new) and huge closet.with mirrored doors. there ia a slider that opens onto the patio( in a nice size backyard). this place is very comfortable. the kitchen is nice with a killer pantry. i think she should be happier there than here in tracy/ as for me i'll be happy when i get to go home and happier still when i get to go to etna! can't wait. hopefullu i will be going up there mabe december or at the end of the momth. if not it'll be in january. i hopee it's sooner than later.

when i think of all the birthdays i celebrated gettin bent and trashed out on libation and medication, the thing y remember most about about those birthdays is.... how strong a drug asprin REALLY is!

the night before and the day in court...

we woke up after a distressingly uneasy night in an ok motel. the room was ok and the bed was comfortable enough. i sleep with a window or door open, cant stand the fan or air on. libby's mom lillian has a THING about the doors and windows being shut and locked. and libby had the bed by the window. leaving elaine and i behind the wall where it was VERY stuffy. the air conditioner worked and man, it let you know when it was working,LOL it was so noisy. i tryed to stuff paper in spots that may have been responsible for all the racket but no good! after half the night like that i shut the damn thing off!! snuck and opened the door for a while and that was bliss but didnt last long. after i just let us all be stiffled. woke up and elaine and libby and lillian were already up, getting ready. lillian had her clothes on and her purse on her arm. asking us where were we going(at least five times before we left). we got out the door at five minutes to eight and still got to court on time! as usual they tell you to be there at least an hour before the judge shows up. he wasn't to bad but he was firm. the first thing they did was announce that her attourney had been disbarred. after all the things she told me about her bad luck with the court systems i had to laugh outloud. elaine had moved to another county without telling her probation officer and hadnt't finished paying a fine. that's not too awful. they slammed her for it, though. i tryed to say something in her defence and almost went with her. i told them "y'all suck" the judge asked for a financial statement to qualify her for referal to the public deffender office.she goes to court next week. she had no money and i didnt have any to put on her books. libby said she would put some on for her but we'll see. see did get a 25 dollar phone card so she can call us.her sons are doing the windows in the house and washing and detailing her hummer for the money to pay for a train ticket and other costs. keep you all posted on the life and times...

well i got back home and left Again! i am in Tracy at my freinds house. i have been here for a couple of days. we took my freind elaine to court in Red Bluff. i feel kinda bad because i kept telling her that it was going to be ok and they remanned her to custody. the trip up was long and faily nice. we had four women in the car , it was hot and crowded. fortunately there were no homicides commited, lol. when we to red bluff it was already eight pm or so. it is a pretty town with a lot of motels. the one we were looking for was called the the cinderella motel. it looked over sacremento river. when we spotted the sign a breif excitement welled up in all of us tofinally be able to get out and relax. that was short lived! the cinderella sign was quite visible from the corner of oak st and antelope rd. we drove into the lot where the motel appeared to ber but IT WAS GONE!!! all that was left of it was the pad that was once the motel floors. and yes it did overlook the beautiful sacremento river. SO we went on to ask a local guy about the motels that were available. he gave us the lowdown on the fleabags and the local attractions. so we went on to check out the hamptons and the classic and stayed away from motel six as advised. wound up at the travel lodge. it was the stuffiest room i've ever walked into. elaine was standing next to me when we opened the door it nearly knocked us over. first thing i opened the slider that overlooked the pool and a lrge grassy area.behind that was the river. it was quiet and during the day at was pleasant and pretty, nice and green.we went to court after a night of pizza and cheap wine coolers.
